Gemcorp Capital launches the Gemcorp Commodities Alternative Products Fund

This press release is being issued in the United States by Gemcorp Capital Advisors LLC to accredited investors (as defined in Rule 501(a) under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended) based in the United States.

18 February 2025

New York, (18.02.2025) – Gemcorp Capital Advisors LLC (the “Firm”), which is part of the Gemcorp Capital Group (“Gemcorp”), a global asset management business, today announces the launch of the Gemcorp Commodities Alternative Products Fund (the “GCAP Fund”), a Delaware based interval fund. Investment in the GCAP Fund is being offered in private placement transactions pursuant to Rule 506(c) of Regulation D promulgated under the Securities Act of 1933 (the “Securities Act”) to investors that are both qualified clients as defined in Rule 205-3 under the Advisers Act of 1940 and accredited investors as defined in Rule 501 of the Securities Act. The launch represents an industry first, as the only commodities-based interval fund available to investors in the US1.

The GCAP Fund aims to provide investors with income and diversification through exposure to commodities related credit. The portfolio will focus on short duration credit and trade finance as well as holding commodity-linked equities and physical gold. This multi-strategy credit approach intends to offer investors a diversified income stream with low correlation to broader financial markets. The short duration nature of the credit suits the predictable quarterly liquidity windows of an interval fund structure, allowing wealth investors to access an asset class previously only available to institutional clients.

The Firm believes that we could see a new commodities super cycle. It considers that global capital expenditure is increasing, with investments in infrastructure, manufacturing and electrification increasing demand for energy, industrial metals and materials. With allocation by global investors to commodities seen to be at historic lows, the Firm believes now may be a compelling time to enter the asset class.

The Firm’s investment strategy for the GCAP Fund is underpinned by Gemcorp’s track record, having invested over $7 billion in commodities credit over the last decade2. The Firm believes that Gemcorp’s local presence on the ground in key markets, in-house commodity trading expertise and seasoned procurement operation, gives the Firm a true edge in the way it controls the risk of the movement of the commodities financed.

“At Gemcorp, we recognize the growing demand for innovative solutions in commodity investments,” said Atanas Bostandjiev, CEO of Gemcorp. “The Gemcorp Commodities Alternative Products Fund harnesses our strengths and expertise built over the last decade and is a testament to our commitment to delivering value through diversified and innovative strategies in the commodities sector.”

Ahmad Al-Sati, Portfolio Manager and President of Gemcorp Capital Advisors LLC, added: “The GCAP Fund represents an exciting opportunity for investors to capitalize on the untapped potential within commodity and commodity-adjacent markets. It reflects our deep understanding of these markets and our ability to structure investments that deliver both diversified income and growth.”
