Petar Ivanovic      

Principal

Petar Ivanovic is a Principal in the Investments and Structuring team at Gemcorp Capital. Based in Abu Dhabi, he focuses on special situations, illiquid credit and private equity investments with an emphasis on the energy transition and emerging markets.

Petar’s interest in emerging markets is rooted in personal experience. Originally from the Balkans, he witnessed how access to long-term capital can accelerate economic development, strengthen institutions and support integration into global markets. This perspective underpins his approach to investing, which focuses on deploying disciplined capital through thoughtful structuring in markets where growth potential is strong but capital is often scarce or inefficiently allocated.

Prior to joining Gemcorp in 2021, Petar worked as an Associate in Citi's Natural Resources covering both M&A and structured finance. Earlier in his career, he was a Private Equity Analyst at Northern Horizon Capital.

Petar holds an MSc in Finance and Strategic Management from Copenhagen Business School ("CBS"), an MSc in Management (CEMS) from the University of St. Gallen, a BSc in International Business from CBS, and a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Copenhagen. While at Copenhagen Business School, Petar co-founded the CBS Finance Competition, at the time the only finance-focused case competition in the Nordic region.
