Ines Cruz is a Principal at Gemcorp Capital, where she focuses on the structuring and execution of investments across emerging markets.

Ines brings extensive experience in structured finance, with a particular focus on sovereign clients, trade finance and complex cross-border transactions. Her work centres on developing tailored financing solutions, building global banking relationships and navigating regulatory frameworks across diverse markets.

Her interest in emerging markets is professional and personal. Born in Portugal with family roots in Mozambique, Ines developed an early connection to Portuguese-speaking economies. This background, combined with her ability to work across languages and cultures, has enabled her to build a deep understanding of local markets, institutions and ways of doing business. Transitioning from developed to emerging markets also highlighted the disparities in access to capital and resources, which has shaped her interest in commodities, supply chains and the role of structured finance in supporting economic development.

Prior to joining Gemcorp in 2014, Ines spent much of her career at Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs within the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities division.

She holds a BSc in Business Administration from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
