Haris Alao      

Vice President, Origination

Haris Alao is a Vice President in the Origination team at Gemcorp Capital, where he is responsible for sourcing private credit, special situations and private equity investments across emerging markets.

Originally from Benin, Haris brings a strong regional perspective to his work, with particular familiarity across French-speaking countries in West Africa and the Sahel. His background gives him an appreciation for the importance of combining global capital with local understanding when investing in developing economies.

Prior to joining Gemcorp in 2025, Haris worked in investment banking at UBS. Before that, he was involved in corporate and leveraged loans syndication across EMEA at Natixis and began his career as an Assistant Trader at Old Park Capital. Across these roles, he developed experience in credit markets, capital raising and transaction execution.

Haris holds a Master’s degree in Management Finance from Durham University Business School and is a native French speaker.
