Aybars Devecier       

Vice President, Origination

Aybars Devecier is a Vice President in the Origination team at Gemcorp Capital, where he focuses on sourcing private credit, special situations and private equity investments across emerging markets.

Originally from Turkey, Aybars brings a background in structured and blended finance, with experience working at the intersection of private capital and development institutions. His work has centred on mobilising investment into emerging economies, particularly in Africa, where he has supported complex, multi-stakeholder transactions designed to deliver both financial and developmental outcomes.

Prior to joining Gemcorp in 2025, Aybars worked in investment banking, most recently at MUFG Bank, where he was responsible for originating blended finance transactions in Africa. During his time there, he helped arrange more than 20 projects with a combined transaction value exceeding $20 billion, working with African sovereigns and development finance institutions.

Aybars holds a Bachelor’s degree from Istanbul Bilgi University and SRH Hochschule and an MBA from Galatasaray University.
